VIVA Cruises adds new arts, cultural and wellness cruises to kick off the new year

13 October 2021 - River cruise specialist, VIVA Cruises, is running brand new European cruises in January, February and March next year – becoming the only river cruise line operating every single month of 2022. New art, cultural and wellness themed cruises will be introduced in Q1 2022 on board VIVA TIARA, VIVA MOMENTS and SWISS RUBY.

VIVA TIARA, fully renovated last year, will start its new “Arts, Culture and Culinary Delights” cruise on 20 January 2022 – with 13 departures from January to March. The four-night itineraries will depart from Düsseldorf and be visiting Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Antwerp, before making its way back to Düsseldorf. On this cruise, guests will have the chance to visit, amongst other sights, the Rijksmuseum Museum in Amsterdam, dedicated to the art and history of the Netherlands; the Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, Rotterdam’s famous art museum; as well as enjoying a beer and chocolate tasting in Antwerp. Prices start from €350 (approximately £300) per person in a double cabin.

VIVA MOMENTS will be offering two different four-night itineraries along the Rhine focused on wellness and relaxation – all of them starting and ending in Düsseldorf. The “Wellness trip Middle Rhine” cruise will take guests to characterful German towns such as Boppard and Bonn; while the “Wellness trip Rhein-Main” itinerary will be calling at the old towns of Koblenz, Frankfurt and Speyer. All these wellness itineraries, with nine scheduled departures each, will include a wider food and drinks menu with low carbs meals, organic teas and detox water; a spa package with a complimentary 30-min massage and unlimited use of the fitness and spa facilities; free bike rental; and special wellness excursions. Prices start from €395 (approximately £335) per person in a double cabin.

Finally, SWISS RUBY, with capacity for just 88 guests, will be offering a series of “Crime cruises” to Berlin and Düsseldorf. The 7-night themed itineraries will feature a variety of authors on board, who will give exciting readings of their crime novels to guests. Prices start from €995 (approximately £845) per person in a double cabin.

Andrea Kruse, COO of VIVA Cruises, said: “While many river cruise lines take a winter break after the Christmas holidays, VIVA Cruises will be offering new and exciting themed cruises along Europe’s greatest rivers. Whether it is arts, culture, wellness or even crime novels what they are into, we want to give our customers the opportunity to spend a pleasant break with us in what seems to be a promising 2022.”

All VIVA Cruises itineraries include VIVA Cruises’ signature VIVA All-Inclusive product, which includes snacks, full board, high-quality alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, minibar, beauty products from luxury cosmetic brand, Rituals, Wi-Fi and all tips and gratuities.

VIVA Cruises releases 2022 cruises on new expedition ship SEAVENTURE

1 June 2021  - River cruise specialist, VIVA Cruises, has unveiled the 2022 programme of its first ever expedition ship, SEAVENTURE. From April to October 2022, the 164-guest vessel will offer new exciting ocean itineraries in Northern and Western Europe, as well as Arctic cruises - departing from Bremerhaven, Dublin, Edinburgh, Tromsø and Reykjavik. All of the new sailings can now be booked online and by UK travel agents.

SEAVENTURE’s ‘Coastal Magic’ will be a seven-night cruise from/to Dublin, departing on 16 April 2022. The expedition ship will take passengers along the Irish coast to Belfast and across northern Scotland to Edinburgh. This sailing will be followed by further stops in Nordic cities including Spitsbergen, Norway’s northernmost archipelago in the Arctic Ocean.

One of the highlights of SEAVENTURE’s 2022 programme is ‘Eternal Ice of the Arctic’ – a 24-day voyage from/to Bremerhaven (Germany), with two departures in July and August. On this expedition cruise, SEAVENTURE will go through the Shetland Islands - the northern-most tip of Scotland – while making its way to Greenland. Passengers will have the chance to see impressive glaciers and icebergs in Disko Bay as well as spotting humpback, minke and fin whales in the summer months.

The ‘Beauty of Scandinavia’ cruise will set sail in September 2022, visiting some of the region’s most beautiful cities - including Oslo, Gothenburg and Copenhagen – before heading to Western Europe in October. The 22-day cruise will take guests from Bremerhaven (Germany) along the French, Spanish and Portuguese coasts to the Canary Islands, where the cruise ends in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

As a small ship, SEAVENTURE has just 82 cabins and suites for 164 guests. It has been specially designed for its unique itineraries; its size will allow it to enter remote harbours, not to mention its maneuverability, enabling it to change course at short notice to observe animals and nature. A fleet of fourteen sturdy Zodiacs will enable guests to explore smaller ports and uncharted territories.

Prices for 2022 SEAVENTURE expedition cruises start from €2,205 (approximately £1,900) per person in an outside cabin. An early bird discount of 10% will apply to all bookings made by 31 July 2021.

All 2022 itineraries of SEAVENTURE will include VIVA Cruises’ signature VIVA All-Inclusive product, which includes snacks, full board, high-quality alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, minibar, beauty products from luxury cosmetic brand, Rituals, Wi-Fi and all tips and gratuities.

VIVA Cruises releases 2022 programme with two new build ships

20 April 2021 - River cruise specialist, VIVA Cruises, has unveiled exciting news for the 2022 season: two brand new ships will be joining the fleet in 2022 and two further vessels will be given a fresh new look and sailing exclusively for VIVA Cruises next year. With these additions, VIVA Cruises will be running a total of 238 departures across seven ships for the 2022 season. All itineraries can now be booked online.

VIVA Cruises’ first new build ship, VIVA ONE, will set sail from the port of Düsseldorf in April 2022, offering a variety of exciting itineraries on the Rhine and Moselle rivers. VIVA ONE, whose name refers to being the very first ship built by VIVA Cruises, will feature a modern design in blue tones, two restaurants, a spacious sun deck, and a spa and wellness area, amongst other features. VIVA ONE will have 88 cabins (double beds, suites and junior suites, most of them equipped with French balconies) for a maximum of 176 guests.

VIVA ONE will also be the first ship in the VIVA Cruises fleet to use state-of-the-art hybrid technology that is kinder to the environment. The ship will use using sulphur-free GTL (Gas to Liquid) fuel, which significantly reduces CO² consumption and emissions. VIVA ONE will also see an important reduction of plastic on board and the use of more environmentally friendly materials.

VIVA TWO will be VIVA Cruises’ second new build ship, which will complement the fleet primarily on the Danube river from July 2022. VIVA TWO will feature 95 stylish and comfortable cabins (including eight suites) which will reflect the casual lifestyle of VIVA Cruises. VIVA TWO’s lounge and restaurant area, on two different levels, will be connected by wide set of stairs offering the feeling of light and space.

The culinary offering on board both VIVA ONE and VIVA TWO will have something to suit all tastes. VIVA’s Bistro will offer a casual atmosphere and a wide selection of snacks and smaller dishes available from early morning until late at night - including salads, sandwiches and burgers. Riverside will be the main restaurant on both vessels, featuring a wide selection of breakfast, lunch and dinner menus – including vegetarian and vegan meals. VIVA TWO will also have a third restaurant, MOMENTS, the place to go for top-class specialty food, accompanied with light entertainment. All dining options will be included in the cruise package part of the VIVA All-Inclusive product.

Andrea Kruse, COO of VIVA Cruises, said: “We are very proud to be able to launch our very first two new build ships for the 2022 season. We have taken the time to implement our casual lifestyle and all the necessary safety protocols to the vessels to make them just right for our guests.”

In addition to the two new ships, VIVA Cruises will be also sailing along Europe’s most popular rivers (Rhine, Danube, Main, Moselle, Seine and Rhône) and the North and Baltic Seas in 2022. The range of four-night river cruises from the German cities of Düsseldorf, Frankfurt and Koblenz will be significantly expanded next year. These shorter trips are experiencing a great demand as they have proved to be very successful among those new to river cruising.

Longer itineraries within France will be also available next year, but on board two refreshed ships which will be running exclusively for VIVA Cruises in 2022. VIVA VOYAGE will be offering cruises on the Rhône and also in the Mediterranean in the summer; while VIVA GLORIA (formerly SWISS GLORIA) will travel to Le Havre along the Seine.

The 2022 programme will be completed by permanent members of the fleet, VIVA TIARA and VIVA MOMENTS. The former will be running a variety of 7- and 16-night itineraries along the Danube river; while VIVA MOMENTS will be sailing on seven-night itineraries on the Rhine as well as 4-night trips focused on wellness and relaxation (January – March 2022). Finally, SWISS DIAMOND, with capacity for 123 passengers, will continue running its popular itineraries along the Baltic Coast.

VIVA Cruises will offer a total of 238 departures across seven ships throughout 2022. Special discounts for families are also available in all 2022 departures. Children up to the age of three can travel for free in their parents’ cabin; a 50% discount will be applied to children between four and 10 years old; and 30% discount to those between 11 and 15 years old.

All 2022 itineraries will also include VIVA Cruises’ signature VIVA All-Inclusive product, which includes snacks, full board, high-quality alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, minibar, beauty products from luxury cosmetic brand, Rituals, Wi-Fi and all tips and gratuities.

VIVA Cruises will be sailing three refreshed ships in 2021

16 February 2021 – The vessels will be renamed and sailing all year round. Despite the current lockdown and travel restrictions, river cruise specialist, VIVA Cruises, has been working hard to welcome visitors on board as soon as it is safe to do so. For the 2021 season, VIVA Cruises will be having three ships running exclusively for the brand, which will be given a fresh new look and name and sailing all year round.

Two of VIVA Cruises’ most popular ships, MS TREASURES and MS INSPIRE (leased from parent company, Scylla AC), will be sailing exclusively for the young river cruise operator in 2021. For this reason, they will be renamed as VIVA TREASURES and VIVA INSPIRE, respectively. The ships will be sailing on their popular itineraries on the Main, Rhine and Moselle rivers all year round.

Additionally, MS ROBERT BURNS, which also sailed with VIVA Cruises last year, will change her name to VIVA MOMENTS – aligned with the brand’s “Enjoy the moment” motto - and become a permanent member of the fleet. The ship, built in 2018, features 88 outside cabins (most of them with French balconies) and four suites (with balconies), and will be sailing on 7- and 16-night itineraries on the Danube river. As the launch of VIVA ONE, VIVA’s first new build ship, has been pushed back to 2022, VIVA MOMENTS will take over all her planned voyages this year.

All of the three ships will be given a fresh new look using VIVA Cruises’ recognisable blue colours, and will join other vessels such as VIVA TIARA - VIVA Cruises’ very first owned ship which started sailing along the Rhine and Danube rivers in June 2020.

Andrea Kruse, COO of VIVA Cruises, said: “We are delighted to be sailing three vessels exclusively this year, together with our own VIVA TIARA. Our very successful 2020 summer season highlights that we operate the highest safety protocols and have been working very hard to build on this success and have everything ready for 2021.”

All 2021 itineraries will include VIVA’s Checklist - the health and safety measures introduced in light of Covid-19 – and VIVA Cruises’ signature VIVA All-Inclusive product, which includes snacks, full board, high-quality alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, minibar, beauty products from luxury cosmetic brand, Rituals, Wi-Fi and all tips and gratuities.
