  • Reduced number of passengers on board for optimal social distancing

  • Table service for all meals (buffet services removed) and increase of table distance
  • Meals and activities will be arranged in time slots to lower the capacity of communal areas

Subject: Special conditions when booking a trip until 30.04.2021

Dear VIVA Cruises passenger,

that you can plan your 2021 holiday with us without any worries during the ongoing pandemic, we are offering the following different payment and rebooking conditions for all holidays booked from 01.01.2021 to 30.04.2021:

  • reduced deposit of only 100 EUR per person
  • final payment only due 21 days before departure
  • rebooking free of charge up to 21 days prior to departure

In case of an corona-related trip cancellation by VIVA Cruises, you still have the following options:

  • 100% refund of your payment
  • rebooking offer with added value - travel at the same price for the same duration of travel at a later date
  • issuing of a voucher for the received payment including a free upgrade when redeemed

These conditions apply to all journeys from our river or ocean cruises program and independently of all booking channels.

Furthermore, the current General Terms and Conditions of VIVA Cruises apply, which you can find here. Due to the current situation and for your own safety, we recommend taking out travel insurance with Corona protection from our partner HanseMerkur, which also covers, for example, a medically or officially ordered quarantine.

Subject: Latest decisions of the Federal Government / Lockdown Light

Dear VIVA Cruises passenger,

Unfortunately, the current corona virus pandemic continues to present us with new challenges every day.

On 28.10.2020, the German government again decided on drastic measures, which include in particular a ban on unnecessary tourist travel. This situation is a case of force majeure, thus an unavoidable and unforeseeable event.

The safety and health of our guests, as well as that of all crew members on board, is always our highest priority. For this reason, we will regrettably and with a heavy heart cancel all river cruises with departure between 01. and 30. November due to the current situation and the official regulations.

You will be contacted for your booked trip in the next few days by your travel agency or directly by the VIVA Cruises team. We will proceed chronologically after departure and ask you to refrain from telephonic inquiries about the status of processing.

All the more we would like to convince you of our personal service, best comfort and our unique VIVA All-Inclusive at a later date on board of our ships and have therefore arranged attractive rebooking offers with additional exclusive advantages for you.

1) We would be pleased to welcome you before the end of this year. Therefore we offer you a free rebooking on a replacement trip (subject to availability) on board of our premium ships, which is guaranteed without additional payment:

  • MS ROBERT BURNS, 4 nights from/to Frankfurt in December 2020
  • MS INSPIRE, 4 nights from/to Düsseldorf in December 2020
  • MS TREASURES, 4 nights from/to Düsseldorf in December 2020

2) If you do not want to travel until next year, we offer you the possibility of a free rebooking to a replacement trip from our 2021 program with the same travel duration at the same price as previously booked (subject to availability, guaranteed without co-payment).

3) We would also be pleased to issue you a voucher in the amount of the payment made for your next booking until 31.12.2021 and reward this with a free upgrade to a higher cabin category when redeemed.

You can find our complete program on our website at www.viva-cruises.com. The travel agency of your choice or the VIVA team will be happy to advise you individually.

Take your time to choose a new trip. For the booked replacement trip, you will receive an exclusive right to change your booking up to 30 days before the start of the trip free of charge.

If you do not wish to take advantage of any of our value-added offers or if you have not been able to redeem the issued voucher by the end of 2021, you will of course be refunded the payment you have already made to us (processing time approx. 14 working days, please provide us with your IBAN number for refund).

Please send us your decision in writing (letter, e-mail) by 13.11.2020. Our dedicated team will deal with your feedback as soon as possible and process it.

We thank you for your understanding in this situation and can assure you that we are working with great dedication to make your trip as pleasant as possible again as soon as possible!

All trips not listed here will take place today with the booked itinerary and our comprehensive hygiene concept "VIVA's Checklist".
