The German city of Koblenz enjoys a fabulous geographical setting. It lies at the confluence of the Rhine and Moselle rivers (what a treat for riverboat cruise trips) and the convergence of three low mountain ranges, the Westerwald, Hunsrück, and the Eifel (great photo opportunities). It is a popular destination for exploring the romantic Rhine Valley. It is a rather unimposing town mostly visited because of its strategic position but it is welcoming and pleasant with a good range of bars and restaurants in a pedestrianised centre.

There are some interesting attractions, a major one being the Deutsches Eck, a park with a huge statue of Kaiser Wilhelm who base provides a great position to view the point where the Rhine and Moselle meet. The best time to visit Koblenz is in August during the festival Rhein in Flammen (Rhine in Flames) when there is a splendid fireworks display.

Frankfurt: City Walk incl. new old town

Welcome to Frankfurt, a city rich in contrasts. Due to its good location on the Main, the city has been one of the most important German urban centres since the early Middle Ages. Today it is an important industrial and economic centre and home to the European Central Bank, the Deutsche Bundesbank and the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. The city's landmark is the ever-growing skyline.
The ship is located close to Frankfurt's city centre near a beautiful park with Mediterranean vegetation and a view of the banking district. The successful mix of reconstructions and new buildings is a reminder of Frankfurt's eventful history as a European metropolis. Your tour begins with a walk along the impressive Main River and leads you directly into the city centre. Here you will walk with us through the "new old town", which is a remake from 2018. Frankfurt's new old town is a centre of attraction for both citizens and tourists from all over the world. Numerous cafes and museums invite you to linger a while and enjoy the old town flair. Embark on an exploratory tour of Baden-Württemberg's northernmost city. A historic residential town framed by the two rivers Main and Tauber, it has an almost Mediterranean, young and modern feel despite its medieval façade. And if you keep your eyes open, you will always catch a glimpse of the castle, Wertheim's landmark, towering over the old town.
The subsequent visit to the glass museum shows you that glass can't just be dusty. On three floors and a total of 650 m² of exhibition space, you will experience how fascinating and diverse glass can be. Immerse yourself in a journey through time from Egyptian luxury glass to today's indispensable laboratory glass - a material for science, medicine and industry. Frankfurt: Alt-Sachsenhausen with apple wine tasting

This afternoon our guide will take you to discover Frankfurt from the other "side". Learn more about the extremely popular district of Sachsenhausen and embark on an exciting tour. Experience the beautiful architecture of "Dribdebach" with its numerous apple wine pubs & unusual backyards and listen to exciting stories. You can then review the impressions you have gathered in a cosy atmosphere over a Frankfurter Schoppe in a traditional cider pub.
Starting at the ship, we walk along the banks of the Main and cross the Main over the famous Eiserner Steg. As soon as you enter Alt-Sachsenhausen, you encounter the emblem of this beautiful district at every turn: the apple! -Especially in its liquid form, served in the typical blue clay jug, the "Bembel". Many innkeepers who still press their own wine continue this old Sachsenhausen custom. The history of the Frankfurt district probably goes back to the founding of Frankfurt, but you will learn more about that during the tour.
Before returning on board, you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the Frankfurt skyline.

Speyer sits on a bend in the Rhine in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It’s one of the country’s oldest cities boasting a vast cathedral, Medieval synagogue, a pedestrianized shopping area and a museum filled with planes, trains and automobiles. Speyer Cathedral dates back to the 1020s and is the largest European Romanesque church. It’s impressive proportions attract visitors who come to see the blind-arched construction, the frescoes by Johann von Schraudolph, and the crypt where 12 kings, queens and emperors are laid to rest.

Judenhof is an important synagogue with a 13th century Mikvah – or bathing house. With an exhibition explaining about the Jewish community that prayed here, it’s a moving site to visit. Positioned at the end of pedestrianized Maximilian Street, The Old Gate was originally part of the Medieval city wall. Spectacular views over the city can be seen from the viewing area at the top of this landmark tower.
